Soumya Sarkar Breaks Sachin Tendulkar Record


Recently, Bangladesh Opener Soumya Sarkar written his name in cricket history by obliterating a 14-year-old record held by the legendary Sachin Tendulkar in a ODI Match against Newzeland.

Soumya Sarkar from Bangladesh showed his brilliance in the second ODI against New Zealand Scoring a fantastic 169 runs from 151 balls and He also smashed 22 fours and 2 sixes.

Sarkar broke the record of Sachin Tendulkar to register highest score in ODIs by a player from the sub-continent in New Zealand. Sachin scored unbeaten 163 against the Black Caps in 2009.

Even his teammates struggled to score big, Sarkar’s outstanding innings helped the team reach a decent total of 292 runs and played impressive strike rate of 111.92 throughout his innings.

Soumya sarkar score of 169 is now the highest score by a Bangladesh men’s player away from home in an ODI. The total of 291 is also Bangladesh’s highest ODI score in New Zealand.

Soumya efforts were overshadowed by the knocks of Will Young (89) and Henry Nicholls (95) as the NZ won the game by 7 wickets and After Match Everyone at the venue lauded Sarkar efforts
